Sustainability award for Seltor project

Hasle Tre has been named Timber Building of the Year 2022. The office building in solid wood is the first in Norway, and consists of wood solutions throughout, from the supporting structure and insulation material to wooden nails. The building is also designed to be dismantled and reused in the future.

Seltor has been the turnkey contractor and responsible for the delivery of Hasle Tre.

- Hasle Tre has become a unique property, but the road to completion has also been incredible, with new innovative solutions. This is Norway's first demountable and reusable wooden office building. The sustainable wooden structure captures excess carbon from the environment. The wood materials also have a positive impact on the indoor climate, to the benefit of everyone who lives in and uses the building. It's also the first time we've handed over a building that comes with instructions on how to dismantle it for use in other projects in the future," says Peter Persson, Project Manager at Seltor.

The jury for Wooden Building of the Year was enthusiastic and justified their choice with the following description: " Wood has been used from the inside to the outside. New solutions have been used and reuse is a guiding principle in all choices. This is a great example of how construction in the future can give content to the term circularity.

It is not only this jury that has expressed its enthusiasm. Redd Barna, which has moved into the four-storey, 2,800 square meter building, has also praised it.

- "This office has been built in such a revolutionary way that we hope it will change the entire construction industry," said Birgitte Lange, Secretary General of Save the Children, during the official opening of Hasle Tre.

Built on one - two - three

The fact that the building can be dismantled deserves a lot of attention. The assembly itself also deserves the same. The excellent collaboration between everyone involved resulted in the building being erected and sealed after just 7 weeks.

- Hasle Tre was installed at record speed. The complexity of this project has required new solutions and new ways of thinking. The success of this project must be attributed to the fantastic collaboration. The architect, consultants, subcontractors and, not least, the client have shown an ability and willingness to be solution-oriented. We have all been united in our ambitions and the goals to be achieved. This award and the recognition Hasle Tre is now receiving is also a confirmation of successful collaboration," says Persson.

- We are very pleased with the job Seltor has done. With reuse as the most important guideline in the project, Hasle Tre has been a project with a high degree of innovation and a willingness to think in new ways in order to achieve our high environmental ambitions. We have achieved this with Seltor. With its expertise and dedication, Seltor has ensured that the project was delivered on time with the sustainable solutions we see today," says Atle Sundby, Project Director at Höegh Eiendom.

The project has achieved BREEAM NOR Excellent classification and the construction site has been completed as a fossil-free construction site. Hasle Tre is owned by Höegh Eiendom and AF Eiendom.
