The Renovation Company for the Drammen Region (RfD) has contracted Seltor to construct a new office and logistics building at the Mile Recycling Station in Mjøndalen after a two-month constructive consultation phase.
The 4500m2 building will be functional and sober, with an emphasis on sustainability and energy-efficient solutions. There are plans to reuse interior and building materials where possible, and the building will be universally designed. Facilities will also be provided for electric and biogas vehicles, which contribute to more climate-friendly transport. The contract is worth 116 million NOK excl. VAT and is being carried out as a turnkey contract. The construction period is 12 months and the work is in full swing. The architect is Outline Arkitektur and the construction manager is ProsjektA.
"We are very proud to have been given the trust to carry out this project for RfD and look forward to collaborating with all parties involved to ensure that the building is both efficient, sustainable and adapted to the needs of the future. This project fits very well into our strategic focus in the Drammen region. Our experience and our focus on safety, interaction and quality at all levels will contribute to the project being carried out in a safe and good manner, for the benefit of all involved," says Regional Manager Seltor Jan Frode Eng.
"RfD is pleased to have Seltor on board for this project, which co-locates the collection system, warehouse and administration with the district's largest recycling station. The building is being built on a disused landfill that RfD already owns, which results in lower costs and efficient use of space. This is both rational for the service and important for the corporate culture, and we are very satisfied with the solution," says RfD CEO Johann Remmen.
